A leading fire chief in Herts has further delayed his retirement to help fight Covid crisis.
The assistant chief fire officer of Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, who was due to retire last summer, will serve another six months to help with the ongoing response to the coronavirus pandemic.
A lifesaving air ambulance service which covers Hertfordshire including Hitchin has taken possession of its brand-new purpose-built airbase.
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance's new home will house one of their two helicopters, and two of its rapid response vehicles, the new building has areas for training, mentoring, patient liaison and fundraising.

Tim Martin, whose pub chain includes The Angel Vaults on Sun Street, stated the pub industry is on its knees, and that jobs would be lost if pubs did not open their doors soon.
