Two late goals from Mark Burke's battling Canaries saw the home side grab a point with a late rally against Leiston at Top Field on Saturday afternoon.
A Layne Eadie sport kick 13 minutes from time before a Lawrie Marsh header - from his brother Alex's corner - grabbed a point for Hitchin after a brace from the Blues Will Davies put the Suffolk side in control.
Read on for Hitchin Nub News PLAYER RATINGS as Burke's braves secured a hard-earned point.
Tiernan Parker: 5 - Will be disappointed with his error for their second goal but last-gasp fingertip save onto the post shows what he can achieve
Samuel Okoye-Ahaneku: 6.5 - Not the most memorable of debuts but his undoubted talent shows there is far more to come from the former Arsenal schoolboy who is trying to make his mark in non-league circles following a spell at Wingate and Finchley after being released by the Gunners two summers ago
Layne Eadie: 6.5 - Slotted home the Canaries penalty with aplomb and took one for the team with the most blatant of trips late on which deservedly earned him a yellow card
Lawrie Marsh: 7 - Scorer of Hitchin's equaliser prompted unbridled scenes of joy from the bumper crowd of 523
Dan Webb: 7 - Captain, leader, Canaries legend in the making
Ben Walster: 6.5 - Should have cleared his lines in the build-up to Leiston's second goal, but always full of commitment
Alex Marsh: 7 - Assist for his brother's goal means Lawrie owes him one
Jhai Dhillon: 7 - A lively presence with backline's everywhere fearful when attempting to contain him in the box
Callum Stead: 7 - Not his best game but wasn't for a lack of effort. Could perhaps have done better with his early chance but a class act nonetheless
Luke Brown: 7 - Always kept Leiston on their toes
Lewis Barker: 7 - An attacking threat
Substitutes:
Steve Cawley (6.5) on for Luke Brown
