It's fair to say say Hitchin Town keeper Charlie Horlock will remember the weekend for the rest of his career - and probably beyond.

When Hitchin Town travelled to Halesowen Town on Saturday, few could have predicted the drama that would follow.

The Canaries renowned net minder produced a stellar performance for Mark Burke's side - at both ends of the pitch.

The 28-year-old, who featured in the Stevenage academy a decade ago gave the most notable performance of his long career by scoring a goal.

Not content with that, the talented Horlock then saved a last minute penalty.

Horlock heroics helped Burke's boys to a hard-fought 3-1 win at the Grove in the West Midlands, as the Top Field outfit eased to second spot in the Southern League Premier Division Central.

No wonder the humble keeper posted after the match: "Had worse games...thank you for all the messages, they are much appreciated."

Here's a round-up of the best social media reaction to Horlock's heroics.
