Owen Rodbard has picked his three standout players for Stevenage this season.

Read on for the passionate Boro fan's take on the trip that are helping to boost Alex Revell's side in their fight against the drop.

....................

After a poor start to the season, Boro have picked up form.

This could be due to the team bonding or tactical changes.

But there have been some standout performers in recent weeks that have made the difference.

I picked three players that have really stepped up in recent weeks in their bid to help Boro away from the relegation trapdoor.

Terrence Vancooten

No doubt destined for great things.

The Guyana international is a main stead in defence for Boro.

His composure, speed and defensive capabilities will surely attract suitors from higher divisions at the seasons end.

Able to play anywhere along the back line, Vancooten has the ability on the ball to pick a pass out from the back and even drive out of defence.

Often left out of the team last season, could this be his year to really make his mark and cement his place in Alex Revell's starting 11?

Charlie Carter

Every Boro fan will know the quality this young man has. Versatile, powerful and has real quality on the ball.

We've seen him play in every position, attacking mid would be his natural position but he's covered in at wingback, defensive midfield and more recently chipped in with some goals upfront.

Admired by the Boro faithful, he never stops running, wears his heart on his sleeve and for sure has the ability to be playing at a higher level.

Arthur Read

Magic on the ball, defensively astute and reads the game really well. The 21 year old midfielder on loan from Brentford is the epitome of the Bees acclaimed youth setup.

Read is the perfect player for the playing style that Revell wants.

Bustling, energetic and has bought that rough side to his game that he maybe lacked at the start of the season.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was involved in the Brentford first team set up next season after some eye catching performances so far for Boro.

Honourable mentions go to Jack Smith, Luther Wildin and Jamie Cummings.
