The end of war in Europe V.E. day
Winston Churchill and the Royal family a sight to see
On the Buckingham Palace balcony
Huge crowds in London were there
At the Palace and Trafalgar Square
All over the land joy and jubilation
Parties, rejoicing and much celebration
We are grateful for the peace this bought
And to all of those who fought
Our nation with so much pride
Remembering sadly those who died
Now after eighty years we cannot neglect
To always remember and reflect
In the world, war and conflict still around
We must strive for lasting peace to be found
