Stevenage FC
Joseph Anang 7.5/10 Relatively unchallenged throughout, but sharp off his line and good handling.
Luther James-Wildin 8.5/10 The Antigua and Barbuda international was superb defensively and going forward, playing 81 minutes and a constant thorn in the side for the Eagles.
Ben Coker 6.5/10 Played 42 games last season but shows no signs of slowing, struggling at times one on one but his experience will be key in the upcoming campaign.
Jake Reeves 7/10 Came into the game as it progressed and was eventually substituted with only nine minutes left to play. Often doing the unseen work in midfield, but struggled to find his passing range.
Luke Prosser 6.5/10 Beaten too easily at times by the quick feet of the speedy right-winger. Captained the side and looked assured on the ball.
Jake Taylor 7/10 Broke up everything in the centre of midfield and always looked to move the ball forward.
Trialist 1 6/10 Looked to drop in and find pockets of space but had little chance to impress Alex Revell in the 45 minutes he played.
Elliot Osborne 6.5/10 Started on the right-wing and linked up well with James-Wildin, providing a threat in behind Daly and Reid. My post-match interview with him will be part of Monday's Canary Club Podcast.
James Daly 8/10 Pressed well to hinder Palace playing out from the back, and played the perfect supporting role to the dangerous Jamie Reid. A proper front two.
Jamie Reid 8.5/10 Lively down the left and through the middle hung on the line of the Palace defence and was pulled down for the red card. Just couldn't break the deadlock with a number of shots saved, but it's only a matter of time before he opens his Boro account.
Ross Marshall 9/10 Made some fantastic last-ditch challenges when Palace looked to threaten. The best player on the pitch in the first half, barely putting a foot wrong.
Scott Cuthbert (Sub) 7.5/10 Picked up the captain's armband from Luke Prosser, and it's safe to say that not many players can head a ball further or harder than the Scot, even heading the ball out of the Lamex at one point.
Terence Vancooten (Sub, 65) 7/10 With James-Wildin to his left and Cuthbert to his right, it's safe to say that Stevenage have a very strong defence.
Mackye Townsend-West (Sub, 65) 7/10 Left-winger who hogged the touchline and wasn't afraid to get stuck in- Cuthbert regularly praised his efforts.
Chris Lines (Sub, 65) 7/10 Almost had an immediate impact, hitting the crossbar with a curling and dipping free-kick. A set-piece specialist with an eye for goal.
Trialist 3 (Sub, 65) 6/10 Played wide and then came infield, never got into the game.
Yasin Arai (Sub, 66) 7.5/10 Provided an attacking impact from the bench and was involved in the own goal.
Trialist 2 (Sub, 66) 7/10 Lively straight after coming on, taking people on and winning two free kicks in good positions.
Trialist 4 6.5/10 (Sub, 66) The only player able to break the deadlock in a hard fought contest.
Sam Dreyer (Sub, 81)
Alfie Williams (Sub, 81)
