A must for anyone curious about space, engineering, or our planet's future.
Join Airbus engineers Chris Lloyd and Carl Warren as they share the incredible story behind Biomass — the European Space Agency satellite built in Stevenage and launched into orbit earlier this year.
Hear how the team overcame huge challenges, including building much of the spacecraft under lockdown, and discover how Biomass is now mapping the world's forests from space. With its powerful radar, the mission is already sending back remarkable data to help scientists track deforestation and climate change — vital knowledge for shaping our planet's future.
This fascinating STEM talk will take you behind the scenes of a decade-long project — from design and construction to launch and the first science images.
Wednesday 12th November 2025, 7–8:30pm at St Andrew's School, Hitchin
Tickets are £5.
Suitable for all ages (recommended KS2+).
