Hitchin Creative and Hitchin Festival combine to organise Hitchin Art Trail
Hitchin Creative and Hitchin Festival teams have combined this year to organise the Hitchin Art Trail - a month-long celebration of Hitchin's visual art and artists.
Hitchin Art Trail will feature works by artists from around the town and members of Hitchin Creative for the month of July 2023.
One of the founding directors of Hitchin Creative is award winning artist James Willis. He says: "We wanted to expand Hitchin Festival in July, with so many people spending time in the town and give them a chance to see some of the spectacular visual art being produced by our creative community.
"This is also a great opportunity for collaboration between the artists themselves and the town's businesses who are featuring their work. That is one of the key drivers behind Hitchin Creative - bringing people together around creativity."
Each piece of art work that is for sale will feature a QR code, to make it easier for people to buy the work they'd like to see on their own wall. Funds raised through sales will be invested to support the work of Hitchin Festival and Hitchin Creative to benefit our growing artistic community.
Artists are being encouraged to submit up to three images for consideration and local businesses are welcome to support Hitchin Art Trail by displaying one or more of the art works selected.
James says: "Hitchin Creative and Hitchin Festival together will be arranging the online catalogue, Social Media and the visitor Map of the Art Trail. We are all volunteers so if you can help in any way we will be pleased to hear from you."
