About the Role

We're seeking a motivated, hands-on individual to lead a small packing team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, shows strong attention to detail, and is confident in following processes and procedures. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining food safety and quality standards while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in the packing area.

Summary

Our Client is currently looking for someone who can lead a small team in packing products as required by the business. The ideal candidate is agile between tasks, focused, has great attention to detail, they would be confident following processes and procedures and can support us in maintaining our standards of food safety and quality when packing chocolate products and keeping records.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the recording of goods in and goods out, including loading and unloading shipments.
  • Overseeing warehouse stock management and rotation based on "first in first out" principles.
  • Arranging labels for postage and other products.
  • Overseeing the traceability of packing and packaging.
  • Overseeing packing specifications are correct and in place.
  • Arrange library samples as required by the Technical Manager.
  • Ensure packing records are maintained and kept accurately supporting our client's SALSA accreditation.
  • Accurately packing products for shipment, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
  • Handle materials safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols during packing operations.
  • Perform quality control checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Assist with inventory management by tracking stock levels and reporting discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace to promote efficiency and safety.
  • Be flexible as per the business needs.

Requirements

  • Ability to commute to/relocate prior to starting work in Hitchin
  • Work authorisation: United Kingdom

Preferred

  • Experience in a warehouse or packing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required.
  • Strong attention to detail for quality control processes.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time
