Rugby Schools Cup Final: HBS 11-0 Torquay: Heroic Hitchin Boys' lift prestigious trophy at Twickenham

TWICKENHAM: Hitchin Boys' School 11-0 Torquay Boys' Grammar School, writes Layth Yousif

Hitchin Boys' School have lifted the prestigious Rugby Football Union's U15s Schools Final on a memorable morning in south west London.

They beat Torquay Grammar 11-0 in the final of the U15 Vase, the culmination of the national Schools Cup rugby tournament, via six points from the boot of Elliot Oughton and a dramatic try from Leo Rainbow with only five minutes remaining.

HBS were cheered on by more than 750 supporters including pupils, staff and parents, who made the early trip to rugby HQ.

Modest coach Chris Bajak said afterwards: "This win is testament ent to the hard work and dedication the team have shown throughout this run. I'm so proud of them."

While a delighted HBS No8 Reece Cairns also spoke to Nub News after the match, saying: "It's the best day of my life."
