Stevenage beat Port Vale 2-1 to record only their second league win of the season.

Goals from Aramdie Oteh and Danny Newton sealed the welcome triumph, despite a late Valiants goal from Devante Rodney giving the hosts a few nervous moments.

Tom Pett: 8 Tough in the tackle, but has an excellent technique allied with deft touches. Excellent with a dead ball

Jack Smith: 7.5 (sub 83, Arthur Iontton: 7) Gave his all and can be proud of his performance - as can all his teammates

Danny Newton: 8. (sub 83, Elliot List: 7) Such a handful, such a talented player who never lets backlines settle. Deserved his goal, could have had more

Aramide Oteh: 8.5 (sub, 81, Inih Effiong: 7) Lively and intelligent, a huge talent with a great temperament. A great future ahead of him. Outstanding finish for Boro's opener
