Stevenage sack Paul Tisdale to draft in Steve Evans
Stevenage Football Club have parted company with manager Paul Tisdale and appointed Steve Evans.
Boro suffered two disappointing home defeats in the space of four days this week, with Tuesday evening's 2-1 loss against Northampton Town being the final straw for chairman Phil Wallace.
The loss came hot on the heels after Newport beat Boro 2-0 at the Lamex on Saturday.
Evans arrival makes it three bosses this season for struggling Boro, four if you count caretaker Robbie O'Keefe.
The former Leeds United and Peterborough United boss has managed over 570 games in the English Football League and guided Rotherham United from League Two to the Championship in 2014.
In May 2019, he was appointed manager of Gillingham FC where he took his side to two consecutive tenth place finishes before departing the League One side in January 2022.
Chairman Phil Wallace said: "Paul has worked tirelessly for us since he joined but we have won three points from the last nine games to drop into a relegation fight.
"With nine games to go, we have to change our fortune and we are hoping Steve will do that."
