Residents at Milford Lodge care home in Hitchin enjoyed a vibrant and heart‑warming celebration to mark the arrival of the Lunar New Year, made even more special by the kindness of local partners who helped bring the festivities to life.

A Feast of Flavours from Bodillys

Milford Lodge Engagement Team, Eliana Ferraris & Devina Kutowaroo said: "We were delighted to receive generous donations of traditional food and drink from local restaurant Bodillys, whose team went above and beyond to ensure residents could enjoy authentic tastes of the season. Their thoughtful contribution filled the home with delicious aromas and gave everyone the chance to sample dishes inspired by Chinese New Year traditions."

Residents gathered to share stories, try new flavours, and learn more about the symbolism behind each dish — from noodles representing longevity to sweet treats symbolising good fortune. The sense of togetherness was unmistakable.

Beautiful Cupcakes to Mark the Occasion

Adding an extra touch of magic to the celebration were beautifully themed cupcakes, decorated in rich reds and golds — colours that represent luck, joy, and prosperity. These stunning creations by activity coordinator Devina Kutowaroo were as delicious as they were eye‑catching, and residents were thrilled by the artistry and care that went into each one.
