Letchworth's much-loved outdoor pool will mark a major milestone this summer with a fun-filled celebration to mark its 90th anniversary. 

The community is invited to join the festivities on Saturday 26 July, as Letchworth Lido celebrates nine decades since the site first opened its doors on 31 July 1935.

To honour the occasion, the lido will host a day of family-friendly activities, including live music from a DJ, face painting (children will need to avoid the pool afterwards), and balloon modelling.

Children enrolled in Everyone Active's Learn to Swim programme across North Herts will also be invited to take part in exclusive taster sessions throughout the day, with the chance to try activities such as water polo and synchronised swimming.

Letchworth Lido offers a 50-metre heated outdoor pool, a smaller learner pool, a sunbathing area where you can hire a sun lounger, and an on-site café – making it the perfect place to spend a summer's day.

 The anniversary event is part of a packed summer programme at the lido, which reopened for its landmark 90th season in May with a host of upgrades shaped by customer feedback.

Letchworth Lido is operated by Everyone Active, acting as an agent of North Herts Council, which owns the site.
