Christmas and New Year service information confirmed for North Herts residents

North Hertfordshire District Council has confirmed how its services will operate over the Christmas and New Year period, ensuring essential support remains available while allowing staff and crews a well-deserved festive break.
Council office opening hours
The Council's Customer Service Centre and offices will close at 5pm on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, and reopen at 9am on Friday, January 2, 2026.
Residents are reminded that many services will continue to be available online throughout the holiday period.
Urgent waste and recycling issues
Anyone experiencing urgent problems with bin collections can report issues on December 30 and 31 by calling 01462 474000 and selecting the option for Waste.
Emergency support
For emergencies such as homelessness, residents should call 0300 777 4125.
Herts Careline's emergency control room will continue operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can be contacted on 0300 999 2 999.
Flooding advice
In the event of flooding, residents are advised to visit the Council's flooding information pages for guidance and updates.

Residents can sign up for free email alerts to receive the latest news and service updates over the festive period via the Council's website.
