Coming soon to Hitchin Library: Creator Space!

Hitchin Library is shut from today, Wednesday (May 18) for a week because of exciting new refurbishment plans for the site at Paynes Park.

As you can see from the picture, work is being carried out at the library in order for it to host a Creator Space - which will be a hive of industry, inspiration and ingenuity.

Hitchin Library explained that the room will soon become their Creator Space, with provision for 3D printing, sewing machine use and much, much more. They added: "As you can see, there is still some work to do!"

Hitchin Library will be shut until Wednesday, May 25 while the work takes place.

Hitchin Library FAQS

DO I HAVE TO RETURN MY BOOKS BEFORE THE CLOSURE?

No. You can keep your books whilst we're closed.

WHAT IF MY BOOKS ARE DUE BACK DURING THE CLOSURE?

Our system will have automatically given you extra time if your books would have been due back when we are closed. This means that your books will not be due back during the closure.

WHAT IF I WANT TO RETURN MY BOOKS WHEN YOU'RE CLOSED?

If your only option is to return your books when we're closed, our letterbox will still be open for you to drop books off and the lovely library staff will return them for you.

WHAT IF I WANT TO RENEW MY BOOKS WHEN YOU'RE CLOSED?

Although your due back date won't be when we're closed, you may want to renew anyway. You can still do this through the Herts Libraries website or app. You will need your card number and your pin to do this.

WILL MY BORROWBOX ACCOUNT STILL WORK DURING THE CLOSURE?

Yes, your BorrowBox account will not be affected.
