The Walsworth Festival

The brilliant Walsworth Festival returns to Hitchin this weekend after the pandemic intervened to force the cancellation of this amazing, family-friendly festival.

Walsworth Festival will have great food and drink with music, classic cars, entertainment, fairground rides, stalls and so much more from 10am on Sunday.

Entry is free with many Hitchinites looking forward to attending the event that is staging a welcome comeback after being sidelined due to the pandemic.

SATURDAY

Save the Children Hitchin Branch annual quiz at Christchurch

Come and enjoy the Hitchin Branch annual quiz at Christchurch on Saturday, May 21.

A light-hearted quiz to get the grey cells working with refreshments at the interval as a reward for all. 

You are welcome to bring soft drinks only please but tea and coffee will be served. 

7pm for 730pm start.

Hitchin: RNLI stall at the Walsworth Festival

The RNLI will be running a stall at the eagerly-awaited Walsworth Festival.

The popular, family-friendly annual event that was postponed due to Covid will be back, returning on Saturday, May 22.

RNLI organisers said: "Come and visit our stall at this wonderful family friendly festival to learn more about the lifesaving work carried out by the RNLI's volunteers. 

"We shall also be be selling RNLI branded merchandise, handing out colouring sheets for the children and you may even like to learn how you could participate in the Mayday Mile to raise funds. 

"Members of our local fundraising branch will be on hand all day and will be delighted to talk to you.

The brilliant touring exhibition from the British Library, Paddington: The Story of a Bear, is now at North Herts Museum until June 26. Follow his trail of marmalade splats to explore his tales of adventures in this educational, fun and free exhibition
