A high street coffee giant is set to open another store in North Herts.

Costa Coffee aims to open a drive-thru at Stevenage Leisure Park.

A planning application has been lodged with Stevenage Borough Council for 'a new commercial building with drive-thru facility' on Kings Way leisure park.

Costa Coffee already has stores in Stevenage High Street, Queensway, as well as the 9Yards retail park - which was previously called Roaring Meg, and Stevenage Railway Station. There is also a Costa Coffee on Bancroft in Hitchin.

The application insists the plans would "contribute towards the overall vitality and viability of Stevenage and represent sustainable economic development".

The new store would be on the site of former restaurant Eastern Corner, which was demolished four years ago.

What do you think? Does Stevenage - and North Herts - really need another coffee shop?
