Former serving police officer David Carrick from Stevenage is at Southwark Crown Court today, Monday (February 6) for his sentencing hearing.
Eventually caught as a heinous sex offender, Carrick, known to his colleagues as "B*****d Dave", is being sentenced over two days after admitting 49 charges in January.

The court is hearing arguments over the length of jail sentence that David Carrick should face.
Prosecutor Tom Little KC says Carrick should face a life sentence, insisting: "there is a significant risk of serious harm to the public. This offending was extremely serious," he adds. "It was sustained in its duration.
Carrick, 48, who lived in Stevenage, met a number of his victims through dating websites, pleaded guilty to 49 offences last month, spanning across two decades.
Serial rapist Carrick used his role to put fear into his victims admitted dozens of rape and sexual offences against 12 women.
Carrick, a firearms officer in the Met's Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command, committed his offences over two decades, spanning from 2003 to 2020, with many sexual offences taking place across Hertfordshire, including Stevenage.
