Easter Surprise Brings Smiles at the Care Home
By Eliana Ferraris 6th Apr 2026
Residents at Milford Lodge care home in Hitchin were treated to a heart‑warming Easter surprise this week when the Easter Bunny (Engagement Lead Eliana Ferraris & Activity Organiser Devina Kutowaroo) hopped into the home with a basket full of colourful chocolate eggs — and two irresistibly cute chicks in tow. (AJ Kutowaroo age 6 & Raya Kutowaroo age 4).
The visit transformed an ordinary morning into a moment of pure joy. Residents gathered in the lounge, delighted as the Easter Bunny & chicks made their way around the room, handing out eggs and sharing a few playful wiggles of those big fluffy ears. Laughter filled the space, and the simple pleasure of receiving a treat brought out the childlike excitement in everyone.
But it was the chicks who truly stole the show.
Staff described the atmosphere as "pure sunshine," noting how the visit encouraged conversation, connection, and plenty of smiles.
Activity Organiser Devina Kutowaroo said
"The Easter Bunny's visit has quickly become a favourite moment of the season, reminding everyone that small gestures — a chocolate egg, children dressed as chicks & a shared laugh — can bring enormous joy."
As one resident put it, "It's lovely to feel part of the fun. It makes you feel young again."
A perfect start to spring, and a beautiful reminder of the magic that community and kindness can bring.
