Walsworth Festival Returns to Hitchin for a Day of Community Celebration
By James Denselow 7th Apr 2026
The much-loved Walsworth Festival will return to Walsworth Common in Hitchin on Sunday 17 May 2026, bringing a vibrant day of music, entertainment and family fun to the local community.
Open from 10am to 4pm, the festival is free to attend and has been a staple of the Walsworth community since 1974, celebrating local talent, businesses and community spirit.
This year's festival promises a packed programme of activities for all ages. Visitors can enjoy live music from Todd In The Hole, a main arena filled with a variety of performances, a classic car display and a traditional fun fair. There will also be a wide range of local stalls, food vendors and a bar, making it a perfect day out for families, friends and visitors from across Hitchin and beyond.
Walsworth Festival is a not-for-profit event organised by local residents, supported by funding from North Herts District Council and revenue generated on the day. The event relies on the continued support of volunteers and the local community to bring it to life each year.
Peter Walker, an organiser of the Walsworth Festival explains: "Walsworth Festival is all about bringing people together. It's a day to celebrate our community, support local businesses and enjoy a great atmosphere with friends and family. We're looking forward to welcoming everyone back this May."
The organisers are also encouraging members of the community to get involved by volunteering on the day to help ensure the festival runs smoothly.
