Hertfordshire Constabulary has formally welcomed 11 new recruits to its Force Communications Room (FCR) — the dedicated team that responds to emergency and non-emergency calls, webchat messages and online crime reports 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Family and friends gathered at police headquarters in Welwyn Garden City on Monday (13 October) to celebrate the group's achievements, as they were presented with certificates marking the completion of their intensive training programme.
Digital and Innovation Manager Richard Wilde congratulated the new team members, saying:
"You are about to join a hard-working team and will play an important role in getting help to those who need us most. Now is the time to put your training into practice and I look forward to seeing how you all progress in your new career. I wish you all the very best."
The new recruits will now take up their posts in the busy FCR, helping to ensure that residents across Hertfordshire — including Hitchin and surrounding towns — receive a fast and effective response when they contact the police.
