Bluebells are in bloom at Hitch Wood and other local forests near Hitchin.

Hertfordshire Natural History Society promote the study and recording of the flora and fauna in Hertfordshire and encourage a wider interest in natural history including the conservation of wildlife, habitats and geological features.

They've helpfully reminded bluebells visitors that the waymarked Bluebell Walk at Hitch Wood starts at the car park on the B651 south of Hichin [TL198239].

The walk winds through the woods and there are several benches where you can relax and admire the sheets of bluebells under the oak trees.
