Find out more about Hitchin Youth Group PHASE's Project Hope campaign

Hitchin's Phase youth charity has launched Project Hope, a campaign which will run through December, where every pound donated is doubled, making twice the impact.

Now, more than ever, the young people of our town need support and Phase is leading the way in schools and across the area to make sure that children who are struggling can get the help they need. But they do not have the funds to meet the need.

Keiran Murphy Director of Phase, explained: "We know times are tight but Phase needs the good folks of Hitchin to show they care for the next generation so we can continue to provide the vital support the young people need.

"We are so grateful for the unwavering support of our gracious funders – and now every pound donated to Project Hope in December will be matched, effectively doubling all the contributions.

"So, please consider making a Christmas gift to Phase as for every £1 given, we can turn it into £2, up to a total of £7,5000, allowing us to raise a grand total of £15,000."

Project Hope

Project Hope itself is an initiative to provide high-quality, early intervention programmes to primary school-aged children in the town.

As the need for support grows, we need the funding to match. It's heart-breaking but many of the challenges teenagers face begin at around the age of 11. By connecting, equipping, and educating 9 and 10-year-olds, Phase can provide them with the essential tools and skills to navigate the pressures and challenges that lie ahead in their teenage years.

Ensuring that these youngsters have the support they need is our top priority, and with your help, we can make it happen through Project Hope.

Jack (aged 15) said: "The game-changer was when my teacher arranged for me to meet one of the Phase team. It was incredible. They actually listened, understood where I was coming from, and never once passed judgement. All they did was encourage and support."

Some quick fundraising ideas include:

● suggesting Phase and Project Hope as the beneficiaries of any staff Christmas giving initiatives where you work.

● Rally your sports team, book club, dance class, or any other group or society you're a part of to consider supporting this campaign in December.

● Opt for donating to Project Hope instead of sending out Christmas cards, and let your family and friends know why you're doing it.

Kieran added: "I want to thank people in advance for anything they can give during December, it is going to make a huge difference in the lives of our young people not just in 2024 but for years to come."
