Free Beer: Pub offers Hitchin commuters a drink on the house during National Rail Strike
It might be the biggest rail strike in three decades - but one pub is offering Hitchin commuters a free drink on the house to hail their determination to get to work.
Many North Herts commuters who use the Govia Thameslink line from Hitchin railway station to Kings Cross will be familiar with the Parcel Yard pub at the busy London terminus.
Fullers, who own the pub are offering hard-pressed travellers a free pint to say thank you.

They said: "Nothing can stop you... not even a train strike!
"With a week of travel disruptions ahead of us, we really wanted to show some appreciation to those of you that have walked, cycled, scooted, skateboarded, pogo sticked, or just generally struggled into work.
"So if you make it to the office this week and pay us a visit - well done, here's a pint on us!
"For your hard work and perseverance we'd like to offer you a FREE drink to enjoy before embarking again on your journey home."
