Have your say: North Herts Council seeks views on services and future priorities

North Herts Council is inviting residents to have their say on the services they use and value to help shape decisions around future budgets and priorities. Like many other local authorities, North Herts faces some difficult decisions in the years ahead, with rising service delivery costs and long-term budget pressures.
Before the council start their budget-setting process for 2026 and beyond, they would like to know more about which services residents value and their priorities for the future.
Residents are invited to take part in a short survey to share their views on:
- The services you've used in the past year
- What matters most to you
- How you'd approach balancing the budget
- Any other thoughts on North Herts Council services
The survey launched on the 6 June and runs for 8 weeks.
Cllr Ian Albert, North Herts Council's Executive Member for Resources said: "As promised at February's 2025/26 Budget announcement, we are committed to involving our residents in our future budget setting process as your views will be invaluable in helping us shape our future plans.
We remain focused on delivering the essential services our residents rely on while ensuring financial sustainability for the future and will work hard, with resident feedback to find the right balance, exploring ways to increase income and improve efficiency while safeguarding vital services."
The survey can be found online at www.north-herts.gov.uk/consultations and is open until midnight on Friday 1 August. It will also be promoted in Summer Outlook magazine, which will be delivered to residents' doors during w/c 30 June and shared regularly over the coming weeks across the council's social media channels and weekly E: Newsletters.
