Hitchin Market Place piano vandalised

Visit Hitchin put out a statement today (Monday 9th June) saying that they were "sad to announce that our community piano in the Market Place has been vandalised and will have to be taken away".
"Over the weekend, the lid was broken open, the keys damaged and rain cover left off causing significant water damage".
"This was a joint project between us and Hitchin Creative with support from Richard Reason Pianos".
The incident happens less than a month after the iconic Pride-themed bench on Windmill Hill was set on fire in a suspected arson attack.
