Helping Herts raises more than £1,000 for kids at Standon Calling Festival
Helping Herts raise vital funds for kids at Standon Calling Festival
The charity Helping Herts delighted hundreds of children at Standon Calling, one of the biggest and most iconic music festivals in Hertfordshire, by providing a whole host of activities to keep kids entertained during the 4-day event last weekend.
The total amount raised is still being totted up, but the charity is well on its way to raising more than £1,000.
Gordon Morrison, founder of Helping Herts, said: "I have just returned from the end of 4 very successful days at Standon Calling.
"The support given by our 12 chosen charities, Stort Valley Rotary Members and the Helping Herts team was incredible.
"Thank you to everyone involved. Just on one afternoon we were selling books, Phoenix were making badges, the Helping Herts team and Stort Valley members were doing glitter tattoos and Coram were entertaining tables of children with a painting competition.
"The benefit of our 12 charities working together is so obvious to see from the success at Standon Calling."
Working with its charity partners*, Helping Herts created a series of fun family events and workshops throughout the festival. Children queued up for glitter tattoos, badge making and painting competitions, and parents were able to make a discretionary donation to Helping Herts.
Helping Herts is the official charity for Stort Valley Rotary Club, bringing together remarkable local charities, united by a common goal: to improve the lives of our children and young people. By supporting Helping Herts you can become a catalyst for transformation and a beacon of hope for countless young lives across the county.
Jim Tatchell, co-founder of Helping Herts, said: "From our excellent location right in front of the main stage we attracted hundreds of children to take part in the activities that were provided by the twelve Helping Herts charities.
"We also ran a second-hand book stall and gave away cuddly toys to anyone that had left theirs at home! Many thanks to the organisers of Standon Calling for choosing us to be one of their chosen charities, thanks also to our charity partners and volunteers from Stort Valley Rotary as well as to our wonderful Helping Herts team."
