Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an incident at Stevenage Leisure Park which left a woman injured.

The incident occurred inside McDonald's, at around 105pm on Monday (January 23).

It was reported that an altercation occurred between a large group of teenagers, during which chairs were thrown.

A woman, who was eating inside the restaurant at the time, sustained injuries to her arm as she prevented one of the chairs from striking a young child.

The group then fled the area.

Investigator Tara Adams-Cook, from the Local Crime Unit, said: "The violent actions of those involved left a completely innocent member of the public with injuries to her arm and unable to work. This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

"Our enquiries are continuing at this time to trace those involved and I am appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or who may have captured any footage, to please come forward. If you would prefer to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers with any information. Thank you."

Anyone with information is asked to please email [email protected]

You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/8231/23.
