Hertfordshire Constabulary supporting Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week

Police in Hertfordshire are supporting Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week which runs from Monday 30 June until Sunday 6 July.
The week is aimed at increasing public understanding of ASB, how and who to report it to and their rights in relation to it, with the overarching theme and hashtag for the week being #MakingCommunitiesSafer.
In each part of the county, Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) work alongside partners, such as local authorities, to focus on solving anti-social behaviour, which can include issues such as speeding, inconsiderate behaviour, nuisance vehicle use and fly-tipping amongst many others.
Hertfordshire Chief Constable Andy Prophet, who is the national lead for ASB, said: "Every day our NPT officers, along with partners, are working hard to tackle anti-social behaviour issues affecting people in their homes, businesses and communities and preventing them from happening again.
"This could be anything from securing closure orders on troublesome addresses, responding to reports of live fly-tipping, enforcing legislation surrounding anti-social vehicle use or acting on neighbour disputes.
"NPTs engage with the public in person through foot patrols of our town centres and community engagement events, as well as using technology such as the Herts Connected feedback platform, to better understand what issues are affecting our communities most so we can take action.
"Don't assume someone else will report ASB if there is an issue in your area, if you don't report it then the problems may well continue.
"ASB can be reported to us online at herts.police.uk/report, by speaking to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or by calling the non-emergency number 101.
"Some ASB, such as noise complaints, abandoned vehicles, discarded drug paraphernalia and dog mess, is dealt with by your local authority and you can report it to them via their own websites.
"Either way make sure any issues are reported to the relevant authority, more information on who deals with what can be found here herts.police.uk/asb."
