Parts of Hertfordshire are set to be placed into stricter Tier 3 measures to combat the spread of Covid - but Hitchin and north Herts have escaped tougher guidelines.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock addressed Parliament at 3.38pm today, Monday, December 14, to officially announce changes to the Tier system.
London will be placed under the toughest Tier 3 restrictions from Wednesday along with parts of our county.
Hitchin and north Herts will not be moved from Tier 2, thanks to the lower numbers of Covid infections, compared to other parts of Hertfordshire.
However, Mr Hancock confirmed in the House, that Broxbourne, Watford and Hertsmere - all in the south of Hertfordshire - will move into Tier 3, from one minute past midnight on Wednesday.
