Herts Police have confirmed to Hitchin Nub News that a man had sadly died in Hitchin after suffering a medical episode

Hertfordshire Constabulary have confirmed to Hitchin Nub News that a man has sadly died in Hitchin, after what officers have described as a 'medical episode'.

Police were called at 911pm on Thursday (October 19) to reports of a man suffering a medical episode in Moss Way, Hitchin.

Herts Police told Nub News: "Officers attended alongside colleagues from the ambulance service.

"Sadly the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"Next of kin have been informed and his death is being treated as non-suspicious."

Herts Police added: "As per standard procedure, the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to prior police contact with the individual."
