Appeal after two cats receive sickening injuries

Police are appealing for information and witnesses after two cats were injured in Hertfordshire.

The first incident occurred on September 13 when a seven-month-old ginger and white cat returned home with an injury to its neck. The owners took their pet to the vets, who located a pellet, which required surgery to remove. (Crime reference 41/78456/22).

The second incident occurred on September 20 when a black cat, with a pink collar and pink bell, returned home with an injury to its front left leg. The owners took their pet to the vets to discover a pellet had shattered the bone and were recommended to amputate the leg. (Crime reference 41/76362/22).

PC Max Robinson, who is investigating, said: "This is a really traumatic time for the owners and their beloved pets and investigations are continuing to establish how they became injured.

"I am appealing for anyone who may have information about the incidents to please contact me at [email protected] or PCSO Olivia Finlay at [email protected] and quote the relevant crime reference number above."

The incidents took place in Hemel Hempstead.
