Herts Police have issued advice for mourners from Hitchin aiming to pay their respects to our late monarch in London.
Extra transport services have been put on to help mourners get in and out of central London to pay their respects until Her Majesty The Queen's state funeral on Monday.
The late Elizabeth II's Lying-in-State at the Palace of Westminster opened to the public at 5pm on Wednesday (September 14) and will be open 24 hours a day until it closes at 630am on Monday (September 19).
Herts Police said: "As with all major events, criminals may seek to exploit the death of Her Majesty The Queen for their own gain, so please be attentive to emails, text messages and other communications you receive during this time."
The Queue
An official queue tracker has been released for mourners lining up to see the Queen lying in State at Westminster Hall.
Guidance for those wishing to pay their respects to Her Majesty The Queen while she is Lying-in-State can be found via the GOV.UK website.
The Queue: All you need to know
We would like to draw your attention to the following essential points:
You do not need a ticket for the Lying-in-State
You do not have to pay to attend
To visit the Lying-in-State, you need to join the back of the queue. When you reach the back of the queue, you will be given a coloured and numbered wristband. This is a record of when you joined the queue.
The location of the back of the queue will move depending on how many people are queuing.
Before you travel you are advised to check the Department of Culture, Media & Sport social media channels for the latest updates on estimated queuing times and location of the back of the queue.
Queue Tracker
An official queue tracker has been released for mourners lining up to see the Queen Lying in State at Westminster Hall.
The live tracker, above, shows the end point of the queue live and continually shares the length of the line.
As authorities prepared to open the Hall to mourners at 5pm on Wednesday, the tracker showed the queue was around 2.5 miles long and stretched all the way to London Bridge.
At 10am on Thursday morning, the queue had grown to three miles long.
