Visit Hitchin ran the H-Town Business awards in October and received 100s of nominations for what they describe as the towns's "amazing businesses". 

In November the excitement of the Christmas tree lights switch on may have overshadowed the announcement of the awards so Hitchin Nub News thought they deserved their own story. 

The winner of 'Employee of the Year Award' went to The Hermitage Road Restaurant 

The restaurant is known for using locally sourced, high-quality ingredients in its dishes. It prides itself on offering a menu that combines traditional British cuisine with modern twists.

The winner of 'Best Customer Service Award' went to Gatwards of Hitchin 

Gatwards has a long history and is considered a local institution, offering a variety of goods ranging from clothing and homeware to toys and gifts.

The winner of 'Community Champion Award' went to Felix Camfield-Walker - famous for his role with H-Town Classic & Dub Club - a Hitchin based club for "lovers of ALL classic vehicles". "What a lovely thing to have" said Felix upon receiving the award. 

The winner of 'Best Overall Business Award' went to Collusion Barbers. In a town not short of hairdressers, Collusion was recognised as a cut above the rest.
