Hitchin: CCTV appeal after late night Market Place fight sees victim suffer severe head injury - police hunt man

Police released CCTV images of a man they are looking to identify following a late night assault in Hitchin

Two men became involved in a fight with another man on Market Place, which left the victim suffering a severe head injury after being punched.

Police attended the scene and the victim was located, and one of the men was arrested on suspicion of assault. The second man made off from the scene.

The person in the image was in the area at the time of the incident and may be able to assist with enquiries.

Officers are hoping to job people's memories after the altercation took place at around 12.30am on Sunday, March 6 - as it is believed there were other people in the area at the time who may also have information which could prove helpful to the investigation.

An 18 year old man from #Royston was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
