[H1]HITCHIN: Former Hitchin Boys' School pupil and globally renowned troubadour James Bay has tested positive for Covid.[H1]

Bay, who made his name with multi-million selling hit single 'Hold Back The River' in 2014 - and who has performed on arena tours with Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and The Rolling Stones over the years, revealed the news on social media.

Born in Hitchin in 1990, Bay is a singer-songwriter whose music spans indie-pop, blues-rock and soul and has been on tour this year.

Posting on his official Twitter account to his 400,000 fans, Bay announced that he had to cancel the final show of his tour in Wales

He said: "Very sad to announce that I've tested positive for Covid overnight and won't be able to play the final show of the New Songs New Stories tour. So sorry Cardiff. Hold onto your tickets! We'll be back to do the show on Sat Feb 19th, so I'll see you very soon! X."
