A free bike-marking event is being held at Bancroft Park, Hitchin on Sunday (July 16) between 930am and 11am.

Officers will be on hand to mark your bike and give crime prevention advice.

These events aren't just an opportunity to have your bike security-marked, PCSO Nat Skinner and PCSO Chris Brabrook, of the North Herts Safer Neighbourhood Team, will be on hand to hear your views on local policing, so do go along and have your say.

PCSO Skinner, said: "Bike marking only takes a couple of seconds and it can help deter thieves from stealing your bike as it makes them harder to sell on.

"It also means bikes can be reunited with their rightful owners more easily should they ever be lost or stolen.

"If you've got a spare moment, do come and join us to get your bike marked.

"There's no cost and it will give you peace of mind that yours is more secure."
