It's the perfect Hitchin match!

Rising star in the world of boxing, Tom Ansell is being sponsored by the highly-rated Chicken George.

Super-lightweight Tom is a true gentleman away from the ring, but a devil inside it - and is aiming for a world title one day.

In the meantime the renowned Hitchin eatery on Bancroft have teamed up with Tom to help him with costs incurred on his way to the top.

Speaking to Hitchin Nub News at Chicken George, humble Tom hailed the restaurant's owner Chris Cheah and the team behind the hugely successful site.

"To have Chicken George on board as sponsors is a perfect match," says the popular Tom, adding: "They're helping me out for my next fight. My medicals and so on, which is a great help.

"A big thank you to Chris and the team, as they've been first class.

"Chicken George do a lot of good for our community, they also have various hook-ups with sportspeople. I know they had the Saracens Rugby Union boys down here this summer.

"Everyone loves Chicken George."

And so say all of us.

Stay tuned to Hitchin Nub News for our in-depth feature on rising star Tom soon.

Tom would like to say thank you to all his sponsors:
