This Sunday Mickey and Minnie mouse will be taking part in the fabulous Hitchin 5K – wearing Societi Foundation t-shirts and raising vital awareness of Kawasaki Disease – the leading cause of acquired heart disease in U.K children.

Behind the costumes are Societi Foundation supporters Gayle and Lucy who are passionate about getting this serious childhood illness known.

If you are in the area, come and show your support. The race will start at 9am on the High Street in Hitchin.

Speaking ahead of the eagerly-awaited event, they said: "Huge thanks to the wonderful Dinky Ducks Entertainment and Soft Play Hire for loaning the costumes completely free of charge.

"We are beyond grateful to you for helping to protect tiny hearts."

This race is hosted by Hitchin Running Club.

If you would like to make a donation to Societi Foundation and help prevent serious heart damage in children, please visit Gayle Harvey's Just Giving page where she continues to take on challenge after challenge to raise funds here
