Hitchin: Here's the reason Herts Police closed Bancroft on Thursday afternoon.
Hitchin motorists experienced delays following the closure of the main route into the town centre on Thursday afternoon (October 12).
Police closed Bancroft in Hitchin town centre due to a road traffic accident that occurred on the busy thoroughfare.
Herts Police told Hitchin Nub News: "Officers were called at around 354pm on Thursday to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Bancroft, Hitchin.
"A VW Golf and a van were involved. No injuries were reported. The road was closed while the vehicles were recovered."
