The landlord and landlady of the renowned Half Moon pub on Queen Street have put pen to paper on a new deal lasting a decade this week.

Freddy wrote: "We have signed the lease for 10 years!

"We are incredibly excited to be able to say only a year late but we staying at the pub for a lot longer.

"This pandemic has made us appreciate even more how lucky we are to have amazing customers, family and friends at The Moon.

"A pub isn't just a place to drink and be merry but it's a community and we are proud to be part of Hitchin's community."

Prior to signing the new deal, the pub was only allowed to host two beer festival a year. However, delighted Freddy also announced that they have negotiated an unlimited amount of beer festivals as part of their lease.

"So, without further ado," Freddy added, "our first festival will be on Friday, April 1, Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3.

"Music, beer, cider, friends - 2022 we are coming for you."
