HITCHIN: Temperatures might be expected to be balmy this week as spring kicks in - but don't get too excited as a 'snow bomb' is expected this time next week

While the mercury is set to rise to the hottest its been since last October with temperatures of around 16C forecast for Wednesday, don't get the summer clothes out just yet - as, improbably, white stuff is on the way.

The Met Office is predicting a 'snowbomb' - set to bring 10cm of snow to the country early week - including Hitchin.

Snowfalls between 25mm and 55mm are forecast in southeast England between London and Peterborough which includes North Herts.

Hitchin weather this week

However, before the snow arrives Hitchin will experience mild and settled weather through this week with sun with light winds today, Monday (March 14) and Tuesday (March 15), before rain appears on Wednesday (March 16).
