Hitchin Nub News marks its first month in business in our town - and we're delighted to say we're growing all the time thanks to you, our wonderful readers!

Since launching at the end of July we've already published 164 Hitchin-specific stories in 30 days more than five a day, come rain, wind or shine.

We've covered everything from good news features including our Up Close series , to squirrel rescues crowdfunding to grants, future festivals to holistic health , from A-Levels and GCSE's to What's On in our town, from sport to politics, business networking events to the Covid crisis – as well as opinion pieces from regular contributors charity and community stories – and plenty in between, such as Hitchin weather, local music, theatre, and of course our daily breakfast briefing which is proving a hit with you all.

We're also big backers of the brilliant businesses in our area and have published in-depth features on a number of successful Hitchin companies and individuals who make our town what it is. We've written about Chicken George, Fabio's Gelato and Cantina Carnitas – not to mention brilliant Hitchin creatives such as hit authors Zoe Folbigg and Matt Adcock and of course the Beano's Danny Pearson.

And don't forget our very own national treasure in north Herts - Betty Leigh-Allinson - whose exploits are so amazing even Captain Tom praised her!

Quite simply if it happens in Hitchin we know about it – and because we are solely dedicated to covering OUR town we report on it in-depth.

But it's not just Hitchin and north Herts where Nub News is making its mark. In an industry racked with redundancies and doubt we are bucking the trend and continuing to grow up and down the country.

From the south west to the midlands the the north west Nub News is revolutionising local journalism with our dedicated hyper-local coverage. We're staffed by an ever growing cohort of experienced, talented, hard-working and dedicated journalists whose efforts are making the industry sit up and take notice.

We take pride there are no annoying pop-ups, no clickbait and no stories that are unrelated to Hitchin and north Herts on our site.

We care about this town because we live in it and love it as much as YOU do.

A big thanks must also go to our ever-increasing numbers on Facebook as we near 500 'likes' in only a matter of weeks – not to mention nearing 400 followers on our Twitter account and 100 on our Instagram all of which are devoted to celebrating our wonderful town.

So, if you like what Nub News is doing in Hitchin – with big plans to come locally and across the country as CEO Karl Hancock's revolutionary idea shakes up the world of local journalism – then tell your friends and family and get them to 'like' and follow our platforms.

Thanks to all who've helped our success story in Hitchin – and stay tuned for more hyper-local, top quality content on YOUR town from Nub News.
