Hitchin: Plans submitted for 29 new one bedroom flats in Queen Street

The application, submitted by the Sonar Group, would result in a total of 29 one-bedroom homes built on three floors at the Queen Street building in Hitchin town centre.

The application report says: "Development proposals comprise the change of use and conversion into 29 residential dwellings with associated parking and infrastructure as well as the addition of new windows to the ground floor and mezzanine floor levels.

"There will be no additional built infrastructure on the site, hence, the proposals are for internal reconfiguration works only."

Hitchin Nub News understands that the XChange gym on Queen Street will continue operating as a successful business in the heart of our town whatever happens with the planning application.
