Hitchin podcaster celebrates 300 episodes

Hilary Seabrook started her independent podcast - Harmonious World - in June 2020 as a lockdown project, after several radio broadcasts that had sadly come to an end as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. After five years, she is publishing her 300th episode on Friday 3 October 2025.
The concept is simple: Hilary chats with musicians, composers and producers across all genres, from jazz to classical, from folk to rock and everything in between.
The inspiration for Harmonious World came from Quincy Jones: "Imagine what a harmonious world it could be if every single person, both young and old, shared a little of what he is good at."
Famous musicians who have appeared on Harmonious World include GRAMMY nominees and winners, including Christian McBride, Maria Schneider, Ute Lemper and Jane Ira Bloom. Hilary has also interviewed many young musicians who are starting out on their journey and gradually being recognised, such as Emma Smith, Emma Rawicz and Sultan Stephenson.
Alongside Harmonious World, Hilary reviews albums and live music on her own website, as well as contributing to other sites dedicated to music.
"It's amazing that I am publishing episode 300 of Harmonious World," says Hilary. "It is an honour to be able to chat with so many great musicians around the world and I now have listeners in 152 countries. All from my home studio in Hitchin. Some of my interviews are recorded online, but I am doing a lot in person, which makes for a much more relaxed conversation. It is great to sit down and chat in person with musicians, often over a cup of tea."
Episode 300 of Harmonious World features former Blue Note Records and celebrated pianist Chano Dominguez and avant-garde guitarist Ethan Margolis. Their new album is called The Blues Around Us and Hilary chatted with them online about their musical backgrounds and how they came together in this extraordinary recording.
Hilary is proud of Harmonious World and this achievement: "Recording 300 conversations with musicians is a huge milestone but I'm not stopping there. I have a long list of upcoming interviews, as well as albums and gigs to review. Long may these great musicians continue to produce amazing music and share it with me and my listeners."
