Police are warning people about a blue badge scam in Hitchin.

Officers have been made aware of two incidents in Hitchin over the last week, where two men approached disabled badge holders in car parks and asked them to scan their badge and payment card.

The incidents took place in St Mary's car park and Sainsbury's car park.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team have been informed and the neighbourhood watch service, OWL, has been used to alert residents.

Herts police are urging people to remain vigilant and should call 101 if they are approached.

Anybody who has information about the incidents should call the non-emergency number 101.
