Alistair Strathern, MP for Hitchin, rose in Parliament before Christmas to highlight a fantastic postbox topper campaign to raise money for the special needs youth group, Hitchin Choices.

Hitchin Choices is a volunteer-run youth group exclusively for children with special educational needs (SEND). They play games, socialise, eat, cook, dance to music and do group trips.

Strathern visited Hitchin Choices in December to spotlight their campaign and call for donations. People can donate using this link.

They have so raised several thousand pounds. They need donations to fund the food, drink, DBS checks, trips and insurance that keeps the club running.

In response to Strathern's question, Leader of the House of Commons Lucy Powell thanked him for raising this and supported more parliamentary debate and thought on SEND issues.

Alistair Strathern MP said: "It was a privilege to shout out the amazing volunteers at Hitchin Choices and our community in Parliament, for running such a fantastic and worthwhile campaign".

"Having visited Hitchin Choices, I know how much this club means to the many young people who use it weekly".

"Going into next year, I am more determined than ever to fight for SEND families and better the provision offer nationally."
