Hitchin prepares to host Jess Glynne

British pop sensation Jess Glynne leads a huge day of music at the Hitchin Heatwave as part of the Hitchin Priory Summer Series. The 'Hold My Hand' singer will take to the stage on Friday 29 August for an unmissable performance, with special guests dance music vocalist and producer Charlotte Plank, British country-pop trio Remember Monday, and DJ Richelle.
London-born singer-songwriter Jess Glynne made history by becoming the first and only British female solo artist to score seven number ones on the UK Singles Chart – among them 'I'll Be There', 'Hold My Hand' and 'Don't Be So Hard on Yourself'.
Jess rose to prominence in 2013 as a featured artist on the multi-platinum singles 'Rather Be' by Clean Bandit and 'My Love' by Route 94, both of which soared to UK number one in the charts. Since then, Jess Glynne has earned a GRAMMY Award, three Ivor Novello Awards, and nine BRIT Award nominations. With her first two chart-topping albums I Cry When I Laugh and Always In Between becoming Platinum best-sellers, Jess was named on Forbes' notorious '30 under 30' in 2019 following her sell-out world Tour.
Jess Glynne has released her third studio album JESS in April 2024, debuting in the Official Top Ten Album Charts. The 15- track self-titled album is made up of the quintessential pop anthems and soulful ballads that have earned Jess the title of one of music's most successful artists. Jess took the album and her biggest hits on tour with over 40 dates across UK, Europe and the US, plus a string of festival dates. Adding to her accolades, in April 2024 Jess received the hugely prestigious BRIT Billion award for achieving over 1 billion streams in the UK, following in the footsteps of previous winners Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish and Lana Del Rey.
With a capacity of eight thousand, Hitchin Priory Summer Series returns for its second year with a brand-new series of huge outdoor concerts in Hertfordshire.
This year's festivities also features performances from the inimitable Nile Rodgers & CHIC, indie powerhouses The Wombats and Razorlight, and reggae legends UB40 ft Ali Campbell as part of a Reggae all-day festival.
Last year's debut event featured an impressive line-up of artists including British pop band Busted, legendary rapper Dizzee Rascal, with Shy FX, JME, and Ms. Dynamite, Craig David's enviable TS5 party, and epic performances from Sister Sledge, De La Soul, and Craig Charles.
