Hitchin: Purse stolen from woman in Bedford Road - police urge vigilance

On Monday (March 20) 1115am, a victim was approached in her car on Bedford Road, Hitchin and told there was a scratch on the rear of her vehicle.

After exiting the vehicle to have a look, the victim then discovered her purse had been taken from her bag in the car.

Herts Police say: "Please be vigilant and do report any suspicious activity or behaviour in the area. 

"If a stranger approaches you, lock your bags in your car before speaking with them."

If you or your neighbours have any information relating to this crime, or if you have captured any relevant footage on your CCTV or doorbell camera, please contact the police non-emergency number 101, quoting crime number 41/ 2 2 9 4 5 /23.
